Starting in December, a selection of key pieces from Armani Jeans and EA Underwear – inspired by and in collaboration with the Barbados-born Grammy-winning pop star – will be available in shops worldwide. And of course, on Armani.com (underwear available in a week or so and the jeans mid-jan) .
If you were shopping with Rihanna, what would she pick out? This range of items gives you an idea. Any girl knows that a great look starts with a great pair of jeans, and this capsule collection features two different – but complementary styles: a classic, skinny leg jean that will take you anywhere, from morning coffee to the club, and Rihanna’s favourite cut, a “boyfriend” jean but with a slimmer leg. Both styles come in either blue or black stretched denim, to suit whichever mood.
Rihanna knows that T-shirts can be anything but basic, and the two tees in this collection have been designed not to pass unnoticed: one features a striking motif combining her initial R with the Emporio Armani eagle, and the other is looser, with an animalier background (a pattern Rihanna loves) and a profile of the singer’s instantly recognizable face.
Top it off with a riff on the man’s motorcycle jacket – complete with black leather and tons of sexy zippers – but revisited in a super-feminine way. For your gear, the collection includes a black leather bag – any woman’s best friend.
But it’s what you don’t see, or what you show little glimpses of, that completes any outfit. That is where underwear comes in – and this capsule collection isn’t leaving anything up to chance. Undeniably feminine, reasonably priced, perfect for everyday and anything but mundane: the Emporio Armani lace sets come in two accent colours, pearl grey and cobalt blue. Barely-there bralettes or more solid models skim and support curves, giving them centre stage. And the details are something special: straps feature the message “Rihanna for Emporio Armani” and the back fastening is adorned with her profile and the label’s embossed logo.
As the new face for the Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani Underwear line, Rihanna’s style and taste shines through in these limited edition pieces. That said, this capsule collection is utterly perfect for personal interpretation. Consider it a starting point and run with it.
