Giorgio Armani has been a longtime fan of the city, and in celebration of his almost twenty-year presence there, he’s dedicated his signature creativity, sophistication and energy to the Armani/Chater House, one of Hong Kong’s most fashionable landmarks.
 
On the 17th of November the a total revamp of Armani/Charter House was launched. It was celebrated with a cocktail bash that featured “Momenti di Emporio” – a retrospective of Emporio Armani images throughout its 30 year history, and topped off with a special performance by global superstar Kelis.
 
Located in the heart of the Central District , the Armani/Chater House has just gotten a new face – with a 3-storey high bamboo exterior motif backlit by LED – and fresh new interior in Marmorino plaster and black granite. But the changes aren’t all just skin-deep: in addition to its new look, this all-Armani, multi-brand concept store is now also home to brand new restaurant, Armani/Aqua, and an exclusive lounge Club, Armani Privè, whose debut opening in Hong Kong mirrors the celebrated Privè clubs in Milan, Tokyo and Dubai.
 
“Hong Kong is one of the most cosmopolitan and vital cities in the world,” says Mr. Armani. “With a vibrant, seductive and hospitable atmosphere, it’s created an unparalleled urban idiom with a uniquely distinctive taste. The new Armani/Chater house is a reflection of all of this.”
 
One of only four Armani concept stores in the whole world, the Hong Kong location is distinctly Armani and yet exudes the special kind of style – a crossroads between East and West, between water and land, between luxury and utility – that so defines the Hong Kong ethos.
 
Fashion writers often describe clothing as “architectural” and architects are well-known for being attentive to fashion. With the new face and body of the Armani/ Chater House, Giorgio Armani once again proves himself a master of both arts.
