Last night, Labrinth and Jessie Ware brought the house down with dazzling performances at the MTV BRAND NEW for 2013 launch party at Emporio Armani‘s flagship store in Bond Street. The event celebrated MTV BRAND NEW’s recent partnership with Emporio Armani Diamonds for this year’s campaign.
The Vaccines, Wretch 32 and Clement Marfo and The Frontline are just a few of the other VIPs who attended the event, watching as Labrinth and Jessie both performed show-stopping sets, dressed head to toe in Emporio Armani.
On arriving at the event, Jessie said: “I am really excited about tonight, it’s going to be quite special!”
Post event Labrinth added – “I’ve never seen such a cool fashion crowd at a gig, they really danced this time… Emporio Armani Diamonds and MTV Brand New put on a great night! They even got me dancing with them! Jessie Ware was sick, I think she’s going to be a really big artist this year and in the future. MTV Brand New is a great platform! It’s done a great job of introducing Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Delilah, Angel, Wretch 32 and so many more…!”
The event also launched MTV’s Unsigned Competition – a nationwide search to add one unsigned artist to the final Brand New for 2013 shortlist. For full details go to www.mtv.co.uk/brandnew.
This year’s MTV BRAND NEW FOR 2013 shortlist will be announced on 28th November before the first of a series of three shows showcasing this year’s nominated artists are staged. After a public vote the overall winner will be announced on 1st February, winning dedicated support across all of MTV’s networks for the rest of 2013.
The new music poll and has been credited for giving a platform to a wealth of now firmly established international artists at the beginning of their musical careers. Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Lana Del Rey have all featured in MTV’s Brand New campaign, as have a host of UK artists including Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Adele, Florence + The Machine and Labrinth, in addition to last year’s Brand New for 2012 winner – one of the UK’s most exciting new talents – Conor Maynard.
